For my next article with Roaming Hunger, I was asked to profile a chef who helped pave the way in the food truck industry. Honestly, I knew exactly who I wanted to interview, but the question was, could I? My initial contact was by sending an email through their website and we all know how that goes. A week goes by and nothing. I had some friends visiting from Seattle so I took them to a food truck event and saw the Chairman Truck was serving. I decided this was my chance to make contact #2. I went up to the order window, explained who I was, gave the woman my card and mentioned I had previously sent an email and was interested in interviewing Chef Hiroo. She said she would pass the message on, etc, etc. Between us, I thought I may have gotten a little over my head with this. Why would the legendary Hiroo of the Chairman want to speak with me?
